A blast of very cold air is moving into Mississippi. Temperatures are running in the 50s this afternoon under a cloudy sky, which is warm compared to what's coming.
Cold, Arctic air will surge south tonight and tomorrow morning, knocking highs down into the 40s Thursday. And with an icy north wind it will feel even colder; wind chill values will stay in the middle to upper 30s during the day, then 20s after sunset.
Into the deep freeze Friday and Saturday mornings as lows plummet to the lower and middle 20s. A bit warmer Saturday afternoon; highs return to the 50s. Warming to the 60s Sunday along with some afternoon and evening showers.
